Daydreaming about where to party

3/25/2017

We are always saying "make every day an excuse to party", and trust me, we really do try to live by this! Unfortunately though, we do realize that sometimes entertaining at your home may be challenging. In the midst of a major kitchen renovation, this is definitely one of those times for me! All of the dust, clutter, and being cooped up leads to a major case of daydreaming. I've been thinking a lot about alternative party spaces that lend themselves to a variety of occasions, different seasons, varying price points, and the ability to transform the space to make it personal.

If you're considering hosting a party, but you're thinking of some place other than home, let us provide you some inspiration:

Picnic Areas at Local Parks

Let a local park picnic area be your backyard for the day! Maybe you have a competitive group of friends and would like the opportunity for a casual softball game or a game of H.O.R.S.E. to show off your basketball skills. We will arrange the catering and outdoorsy decorations so you and your guests can just focus on keeping score.

The Monmouth County Park System has some great options. And we'd love to help you find the one that would work best for your party! For more information about the available spaces, click here.

Sporting Events

...why not a completely unexpected location for the sports fan in your life? Football fans...how about an awesome tailgate party before the big game? Even if your team doesn't win, you still walk away having had a great time. Basketball fans...maybe it's a splurge-worthy event and you get box seats for your closest friends and party all game long. Horse racing fans...spend a day with your own private picnic area or party space at Monmouth Park.

Whatever your sport of choice, we are here to manage all of the details for you. We can guarantee your party will be a home run (or slam dunk, or hole-in-one, or... you get the picture)!

Rental Halls/Local Firehouse

This option is basically the equivalent to a house party, just not in your own house. A rental hall will provide a blank slate to bring any theme to life, while in a large, yet contained, space. Depending on the location, you can either bring in your own caterer or use their "house" caterer. They often have full bars and staff to assist you. Why not know that everything is taken care of and sit back and have a cocktail before your first guests arrive?!

So much to choose from in this category! Give us a shout, and we will find you a rental hall that fits your needs best.

Restaurants

So you may be thinking, "no brainer, of course I can make a reservation at a restaurant for a birthday party." And while that's always an option, we're suggesting taking full advantage of what all of the amazing local restaurants have to offer. Many have private rooms that will still allow you to host a special event that is separate from the regular restaurant crowds. Regardless of whether your party is large or small, your guest of honor is a proclaimed foodie or is just in love with a special restaurant, why not honor that passion with a party at a restaurant that will leave them full of amazing food and even more wonderful memories?

We can help elevate a standard birthday dinner and make it a party to remember!

The Beach

This category may be last in today's list, but it just may be my absolute favorite! As an admitted beach bum, I would stay on the beach from sunrise to sunset all summer long (if I could). One way to squeeze in a little extra beach time and have a casual party, would be to do a potluck dinner at the beach. Who needs decorations when your back drop is filled with ocean views and beautiful boats along with a soundtrack of crashing waves and seagulls?!

A fun menu theme and a little planning to make sure all of your friends have something fun to prepare (or pick up!), is all you really need! A little coordination assistance from The Boastful Host, and you won't have to give up any of your time in the sun!

These are just some of our ideas to get you thinking. If you have other ideas that you'd like to try out, but don't know where to start, let us take on the challenge.

Please let us know what you think of of these ideas in the comments...your opinion is what matters most!

XOXO

Master's Day birthday party

While many of you probably have college basketball on the brain right now, I'm focused on golf! One of the best things about our job, is that we get to share our talents with our children. My "Master Hunter" will be turning the big ONE on April 4, and in true Boastful Host fashion we are full steam ahead in planning his Masters Day party. Since he was born during the week of the 2016 Masters Tournament and his daddy loves golf, it was a no brainer when choosing this as the theme for his first birthday party.

We have some amazing things planned for his party and are excited to share our adventure along the way, from party prep to the special day!

To get things started, I found these amazing invitations at elouisedesigns on Etsy.

In addition to the adorable design, Emily was wonderful to work with. Definitely check out her shop!

We've also gotten started on the centerpieces...

We can't put the final touches on these until the morning of, but we will be sure to show you the final product when it's all complete and you'll be able to see why!

Continue following our blog to see how it all comes together. And maybe this theme will even resonate with you, and we can make this theme personal for your big day!

Cheers!
Amy

I hope everyone is surviving this traumatic regression back to winter. To keep busy (and warm!) until the spring-like weather decides to return, we've been coming up with fun ideas to help promote The Boastful Host, so we can demonstrate all of the fun ways we can help you and all of your friends plan some awesome parties (hint, hint...please share this with ALL of your friends!).

One of those ideas was launching this very blog! How are we doing?! We want to hear from you, so please comment, send us emails, or call so we know what types of services or information would be most helpful for you.

We also have many other ideas in the works as well, some that we hope will allow us to meet some of you in person, spend some time together getting a little crafty,  while enjoying a glass of wine or two. We are super excited about this, so stay tuned for more information as we move into spring!

One immediate project we've been finishing up has been a gift box with a gift certificate and a little Boastful Host craft as a donation to the upcoming LADACIN Rosebud Gala auction.

Take a peak at some of the action...

First, make sure the kiddos are happy and staying busy eating (feeding) some peas so their mommies can get some work done!

Hand cutting all of The Boastful Host bunting...mini bunting is so cute, isn't it? Perfect topper on a birthday cake too!

And here's the final product going to our friends at LADACIN! We can't wait to hear from the winner!

Also, if you'd like to learn more about LADACIN, or make a donation to this wonderful organization, please check out their website http://ladacin.org/index.php/2017-rosebud-gala/

Till next time, make everyday an excuse to party!

XOXO

Giving blogging a try!

Hi, your Boastful Host, Adrienne here! Amy and I have been discussing starting a blog for a while now, but have been a little intimidated since we've never done one before. However, today is the day that we're stepping outside of our comfort zone and are finally going to give it a try! We are blogging virgins and are going to learn as we go, eek! We invite you to follow us on this journey. Learn a little bit about us and our lives, test out some great new recipes, unleash your crafty side with some fun little projects, laugh with us as we make mistakes, and most importantly, get inspired to party!

We believe there is always an excuse to party, whether it's a giant crowd for a milestone birthday, or an intimate dinner at home for 6 because you want to try a few new bottles of wine.

Here's a little snapshot of the "snow day" breakfast party that was happening over here this morning (the day after our downstairs was demolished in preparation of our soon-to-be awesome new kitchen!). Nothing is going to stop this Boastful Host from making waffles for my little family...not even a makeshift kitchen on a folding table!

Strawberry banana egg-free waffles, because oops, we were all out of them! They were deliciously light and fluffy!

How do you love spending a snow day?

XOXO,
